Jealous are very excited to announce that Kristian Jones and Ceal Warnants will be coming together for an exhibition. Expect to see Warnants' witty yet playful tongue-in-cheek illustrations alongside Jones' prints which highlight our relationship and dependancy with the modern world.
8th - 25th September, Jealous East, PV on 8th September 18:30 - 21:30.
Both Jones and Warnants’ limited edition prints are published through Jealous Print Studio. Most recently, Jones’ hugely successful ‘1984/2015’ was included in the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition 2016, with the print selling out on the opening night. Warnants’ most recently published print was created for Jealous’ exhibition with Art on a Postcard which raises funds for The Hepatitis C Trust, where her print ‘Babes’continues to be among the best sellers from the ’20 Best of Art on a Postcard 2015’ exhibition. The works of both artists, who depict the contradictory issues and ever-changing perspective of innocence in our modern society in their own distinct style, are expected to compliment each other greatly, creating a show that will fascinate, entertain and provoke!
THE ARTISTS
Kristian Jones is a London based artist and illustrator. His work often depicts our relationship and dependancy with the modern world in a surreal and twisted form, highlighting the problems of modern day living and contemporary society. Kristian's style draws from the children's imaginations, storybook characters and the bizarre and surreal world.
Ceal Warnants work delves into the dark side of British culture whilst focusing particularly on ideas of youth and innocence. Creating renegade like images of childhood that play on the sugar sweet nostalgia of growing up, Ceal’s work is both darkly comic and disturbingly truthful.
