The spectacular Help Portfolio has made its way to Jealous North and is being displayed at the Gallery this month following its launch in November 2020.

We are proud to be exhibiting this collection of works at Jealous North, continuing the important exposure of the project after being exhibited at Jealous East and the Phillips Auction House earlier this year.

The Help Portfolio Exhibition includes work from sixteen important artists who have each made a signed, limited edition print generously donated to the Help Portfolio.

The project was conceptualised by artist Sue Arrowsmith, collector Christian Mathews, Director of Jealous Gallery and Print Studio Dario Illari, and Director of Cristea Roberts Gallery David Cleaton-Roberts. In early 2020 during the first UK lockdown, the team of industry experts set to create a portfolio of prints to raise money for charities that had been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Sixteen leading UK artists were chosen to come together to take part in the portfolio by donating their work to the project. The artists include:

Sue Arrowsmith

Margaret Calvert

Michael Craig-Martin

Jake and Dinos Chapman

Ian Davenport

Nicky Hirst

Idris Khan

Chris Levine

Paul Mcdevitt

Elizabeth Magill

Annie Morris

Paul Morrison

Remi Rough

Yinka Shonibare CBE

Mathew Weir

Paul Winstanley

All profits from the sale of this collection are being donated to sixteen charities, each one selected by the artists involved. So far, we have raised over £250,000 which has been split equally between the charities.

The works in the portfolio cover a wide range of mediums, themes, and imagery, distinctive to each artist.

Each piece has been specifically created for the project and printed at the Jealous Print Studios. The works feature a spectrum of printing techniques giving collectors a chance to purchase works including phosphorescent ink, gold leaf, blind embossing, and glitter overlays.

Compassion is the name of the piece and what it's all about. Why isn't there a Minister for compassion?’

‘We are absolutely delighted to hear that the help project has already raised £15k for survivors of domestic and sexual abuse and we’d like to extend our thanks to everyone who has supported this fantastic initiative’

Fiona Dwyer, CE, Solace Women’s Aid

‘In what has been an immensely difficult year for all charities, the Help Portfolio is an incredible idea, a fantastic collection of artworks by leading artists, and an absolute lifeline for smaller non-profit organizations like Paintings in Hospitals’
